Please help! Yeah, losing the AutoReboot will not have it reboot, you can schedule the reboot using the switch if you like. I found an issue for this script.
After it is done my computer got rebooted, then I went to Windows Update settings, I saw feature update 21H1 still showing pending for install, then I went to About My PC, it has been changed to version 21H1 already. I checked the log file, it also said the installation is done, but why it is still showing pending in Windows Update settings? I have not seen this issue except when there are early Feature Updates.
It seems like it does not work with them very well. Most of the time it says that it is going to install them and then it does not. If you use WSUS and set a deadline on those, they seem to work a little more reliabily.
We have WSUS. It works well for internal computers. I am trying to solve the update issue on remote computers. My users don't connect to VPN, so they can't get updates on their laptops.
I am thinking to send the command to force install the pending updates. How do you handle the updates on remote machines? By the way, we don't have Intune. Remote machines that can't reach the domain controller via VPN are certainly going to pose an issue. The PSWindowsUpdate module is great for small client bases and those that generally maintain a connection back to the DC, but with plus clients and many of whom are unreachable remotely, you'll need to look at a either some changes to Windows Update for Business in Group Policy cheaper and quicker option assuming it won't take too many weeks for GP changes to be applied, i.

My Windows 10 downloads the updates but when I go into Details in the Updates in Settings they are all sitting there as "Waiting to Install". I've tried Restart and also Shutdown and starting up but they never install. How do I get them to install? This thread is locked.
